Financial Documentation

For admission, you or your sponsor must provide a current bank statement showing a minimum balance of $18,912 USD plus a Financial Guarantee Form signed by the student and sponsor. Students must provide documentation of financial support for the full potential estimated cost of attendance, even if the actual cost varies.

*Insurance Requirement

Medical insurance coverage is required for all international students. This coverage is not available through Butler. Students must purchase coverage and provide proof of coverage before the start of classes.

Insurance must meet the following requirements:

  • Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness
  • Coverage of at least $10,000 for repatriation of remains
  • Coverage of at least $15,000 for medical evacuation
  • A deductible per accident or illness not exceeding $500
  • Include inpatient and outpatient coverage for sickness and accidents

Butler does not recommend a specific insurance company or policy. Purchased coverage must be active during the entire semester or school year. Information on the dates of coverage must be provided when submitting proof of medical insurance. If proof of insurance is not received after classes begin, a hold will be placed on the student’s account. This will prevent future enrollment.

**The summer session is only eight weeks. It is optional for students to take summer classes. However, students who wish to progress at a faster rate can choose to enroll in up to 12 credit hours during the summer session.
